In response to Venmo’s new partnerships with Big Ten and Big 12, HS&E was tasked with developing a program that serves as both a launch and year-long initiative – with emphasis on driving debit card sign-ups.
To achieve this, HS&E created Venmo Hall: an exclusive program for debit card holders designed to bring Venmo to college campuses—and college culture to Venmo.Venmo Hall included: bar takeover watch parties, custom merch, alumni meet and greets, live music, stadium promotion, and a new in-app college debit card interface.
While select moments were open to all students, we delivered on Venmo’s main ask by making the Venmo Debit Card your ticket in.
From custom wordmarks and insignia to bright blue lockers, we transformed each space into Venmo Hall. To kick off the college season, we took over iconic Big Ten and Big 12 venues like Champs Downtown, FieldHouse, Garage Bar, and Sports & Social Arlington.
BAR TAKEOVERS
With top-tier venues as the backdrop, we set out to give Big Ten and Big 12 fans a more personal, memorable experience through exclusive merchandise. Inspired by each school’s unique culture, we created custom sweatshirts, t-shirts, and patches that brought Venmo-branded school spirit to life.
CUSTOM MERCH
To make these experiences reach the college audience, we teamed up with star-powered artists like Two Friends , Elderbrook and the Black Crowes for entertainment. We also hosted meet-and-greets with talent like LaDainian Tomlinson, LaVar Jackson and Robert Griffin III.
MUSIC + TALENT
To amplify Venmo’s partnerships with the Big Ten and Big 12 at scale, we developed a comprehensive suite of in-stadium assets promoting the new Venmo College Debit Card. From LED boards to concession signage, these placements extended Venmo’s messaging to fans throughout the stadium experience.
